ALERT: Publications not updated past 2018

Dear users,

Hopefully you are more than aware of the overall status of the original Equipd app. If you are not, I encourage you to read this previous announcement about the "Future of Equipd": https://support.equipd.me/article/170-the-future-of-equipd

At this point there should be no surprise that Equipd is slowly approaching end of life. The process started in 2014, and I have managed to keep things going until now. It has been communicated many times in every possible way. For those who purchased the app since 2014, there were clear warnings and explanations of the app status on the App Store and in communications since then ... so hopefully this is no surprise to you either.

At this stage the issues are starting to compound. You will no doubt be aware of the issues on iOS 12

And now there are issues with loading publications for 2019.

So at this point the inevitable has arrived.

Thank you for the overwhelming number of emails of appreciation. Some users have complained, but I pray that after considering the history of this app and my considerable efforts over this time that they will not begrudge anything. I am aware of the value this app has provided, that is why I created it. But that does not change anything. And we do have other tools available now.

Of course I encourage all users to look into using the official JW Library app. It is a fantastic resource and will fill the gap for most users.

For those in the Chinese field...

I am working on another solution that should help you with some of the unique features that Equipd provided, including support for Pinyin, Zhuyin, Sidney Lau, and Yale in 2-line format. Hopefully I will be able to get an initial version 1.0 of this newer app out around late 2019 / early 2020. This new app will also provide many of the annotation features that Equipd enabled. It will not look like the old Equipd at all - it will be a more generic app that can be used for secular as well as theocratic content. Version 1.0 will allow you to manually save articles offline and mark them, similar to how the Briefcase worked in Equipd.

If you are interested in the new app I have put up a temporary website so that you can sign up to be notified when it is ready for beta testing or for launch on the App Store.

Thanks again for your understanding and support.

Agape from your brother.

Matthew
